Hello Friends, Firstly it's good to be back writing posts on iftiSEO after a small break. So today I have come up with a very effective way which will help you get sponsored posts for your blog. It has been seen that most of the blogging/seo niche or even tech niche blogs are failing to make money through adsense or other ad networks, so the next thing that comes is Sponsored Reviews.

Complete Guide on Paid Reviews and Sponsored Posts

But wait!!!
Most of us even after having good traffic stats, Alexa rank and even DA are unable to get advertisers for sponsored post. There are many more questions which will be answered in this post as I bring you the Complete Guide on Paid Reviews and Sponsored Posts

Note: By advertisers I mean the persons or the companies who pays us to write about thier product/service

And by the way this post is again based on what my readers wanted. I just did a small survey of what post they would like to have first at iftiSEO and this was their pick. Hurray for them!!!

What are Sponsored Posts/Reviews?

Well, a Sponsored post is just an article or blog post published on your blog on a request of an advertiser for some fee.

So it's basically like an advertiser comes to us asking for promoting his/her product by a blog post on our blog and pays us some amount. The amount may vary from 10$-500$ depending upon your website stats (Analytics, PR, DA, Alexa, etc.).

Many blogs make half of their monthly income by just posting sponsored content, so don't overlook this earning source.

When can we start getting advertisers for Sponsored Posts?

Hmm!! A very Common question. Well, yeah there are some criterias that the advertisers look for before approving any blog for a sponsored post.

Since the advertisers REALLY want to promote their products or services among thier audience they only look for blogs that:
  • Can satisfy their needs,
  • Blogs that can help them build trust among the users
  • Blogs that can meet upto thier expectations,
  • Blogs that can help them make sales,
  • Blogs that can gain them subscribers,
  • Blogs that can even bring them "TRAFFIC",
  • Blogs that can expose them to different audiences and a lot more...
So, the advertisers look for many things before coming up with a proposal and if your blog satisfies any of their needs you will get approved by them.

Wait a sec!! There's one more question that may come in your mind!!! Is it ??
I mentioned some of the key points that the advertisers look for in your blog, but how ?? What do they check?? What stats do they prefer to analyse???

What stats does the advertisers look for in your blog

The advertisers don't have your blog's analytics stats or traffic stats, so they always go for checking up some external sources and analyse it. Let me list some:

Complete Guide on Paid Reviews and Sponsored Posts

  • Alexa Rank- This is probably the first and the most important thing an advertiser look before accepting your blog.
  • DA and PA- Domain authority and Page Authority by Moz also explains a lot about your website/blog and due to this very reason most of the advertisers check these stats.
  • Social Stats- Big advertisers do focus on a blog's social following as they want their product review to get exposed everywhere on a blog network.
  • Competition- Advertisers also look for blogs that already have posted sponsored reviews/posts before as this thing gives them a sense of relief that the blog is already trusted by other advertisers.
  • Ranking- I don't know whether advertisers check for this or not, but if I would be an advertiser I would definately check up a blogs ranking. By ranking I mean that I would just check up the blog's post and see where it got ranked (First page, second page or so on).

I know that after reading till this point your mind still have some questions!! Ahh!! Let me try guessing them and answer them as well. So you might be thinking that what are the preferable stats a blog must have so that it can easily get approved by advertisers?

Recommended Stats to get Sponsored reviews

Well the answer to this cannot be straight and simple but I will answer it according to my experience and I guess it will help you a lot, since I do get a lot of requests by advertisers.

  • Alexa Rank- Under 100k and you will start receiving requests or you can try sending requests. My first sponsored post on this blog came when my site was ranked 73000 in the world as per Alexa. Under 50k Alexa rank will never turn away the advertisers from your blog and such rank can even get you 100$ per post. My blog ranked at 23k brings me an average of 30-100$ per post depending upon many other things.
  • DA and PA- Get a DA above 15 and 50% of advertisers will be ready to accept your blog. PA in this case matters less.
  • Social Stats- As mentioned above, this thing is just looked up by top advertisers who are willing to pay a good amount, so the social stats must be good enough to impress them.
  • Competition- Try to get some low rate reviews initially (like 1-2 posts) since it will show your blog's trust to future advertisers.
  • Ranking- Well if your blog follows the above 4 points, then it is obvious that your posts are getting indexed and ranked well on search engines.

And now here comes again!! What??? I mean some more questions that might have come in your mind. So How to get advertisers once we fulfill all the above points ??

Once your blog gets some good stats, I mean once it fulfills the above points then it is obvious that your blog is creating a buzz in your niche and thus it will not be a difficult task for advertisers to reach your blog. So, once you get good stats you will automatically start getting advertisers mails in your inbox and thus you will be easily making like 20-100$+ per post.

But WHAT IF YOU DON'T GET ADVERTISERS FOR SPONSORED REVIEWS ??? Well yeah this thing is very common these days due to the increase in the number of blogs in your niche. Tech and Blogging/SEO niche bloggers face this thing a lot and believe me I have along got 40+ messages and mails asking on how to get sponsored reviews or posts for our blog.

No problem!! I have written this guide specially for you all who face this problem and thus I've got a solution to this thing. Excited?? Well I guess you are now liking the post as by now you have read 1000 words. So why not LIKE and SHARE this post on your network and help me spread the word.

Hmm! Coming back to point now, I will be explaining you all 3 different & effective techniques of getting Advertisers for Sponsored Reviews or you can say PAID POSTS as others say.
If something can't reach you, then try to reach to that thing yourself.
True isn't it!! Well this is what you will be doing now inorder to get advertisers. We will reach to theam by ourself using some techniques.

3 Most Effective Methods of Getting Sponsored Reviews on your Blog?

I've already given you the idea above on what we will be doing, So lets get started!!

  • Sponsored Posts Marketplace-
One of the best ways to get Paid posts or Sponsored Review is by signing up on different Marketplaces and get your blog listed in it. Many advertisers still prefer to give Paid reviews through such sites as these marketplaces becomes a source of trust between the publisher and the advertiser. Moreover no cheating or scams can take place through it.

Some top Sponsored Posts Marketplaces are:

  • SponsoredReviews.com - One of the best and the most trusted site where you can easily get advertisers who can pay upto 200$ per post. I got 50$ once through this site by just adding a link of advertiser in any one of my post. Join this site now. The only con of this site is that they keep 50% of what the advertisers pays.
  • PostJoint - This is a small marketplace but still effective if your blog stands on top with the stats. Join PostJoint.
  • PayPerPost- One more site, which I just found out googling last week. Do give it a try, join now
  • BuySell.reviews- This is just a new site started by my friend and me, its still in the intial stages but once we get completed with everything you can earn upto 100$ per post using this site. Join it now

There are many more marketplaces that can be found up by googling. I've just listed out the one's which I used. Here is a list of 10 more such sites that pay you for writing posts on your blog.

  • Google Search
Well you must be confused?? Hmm!! But wait, its true that we can use Google Search to get Paid posts on our blog. Let me explain you the whole process.

First of all you have to find new advertisers under your niche, this can be done very easily by just performing a Google Search. Let's for example search for a keyword "Email Marketing".

3 Best Ways to get Sponsored Posts for your Blog

You can see that some ads of different companies/sites will be coming in google search results. Now all you need to do is target these companies. So just select some 3-5 NEW companies from the ads and open up their links, find their contact page/id and shoot them with a mail asking for a paid review of their service.

My Friend Abid Omar have already explained the process completely on his blog with all the steps including "how to write the mail and send them". Check out his post: How to get sponsored reviews

There are 80% chances that these sites will pay you for a sponsored review on your blog since they are already investing in Google Adwords.

  • Competitor Blog
Again a new thing!! You might be confused again?? Are you ?? Well its natural since these things are quite new. So what do I mean by this Competitor Blog?

Note: By Competitor Blog, I just mean a better blog of someone else (maybe your friend) under your same niche.

Lets come to the point directly!! No matter what niche your blog is on, you will always be having some competitor blogs. So in this technique we will take advantage of their blog.

How to do this:
  • First off, make a list of all top blogs under your niche in a notepad file.
  • Now open each blog one by one and check if that blog have posted any sponsored post recently or not, if YES just note down the advertiser/company/product name that your competitor blog have reviewed.
  • Repeat this for all of your competitor blogs and within just 10 minutes you will be having a list of around 15 different products.
  • Now what you have to do is just open up these product sites, get their contact id and mail them asking for writing a paid review of their service.
  • There are 80% chances that you will be approved.

This method works like a charm as in this way we are directly going to contact only those advertisers who firstly have their product/service that fall under your niche and then secondly they have already paid other blogs for writing a review for their service. So it is obvious that they will pay you as well for writing one review.

How much you Can Earn From A Single Review?

This heading ain't that much important in this post but I still prefer to make things look cool and I want you all to know the power of Paid reviews.

Basically a good ranked website (as per ALEXA) like iftiSEO.com can get upto 200$ per post, but to be frank I get an average of 60$ per post which is a good amount for a single review.

If you just write 4 sponsored reviews per month which is really an easy task then you can easily make 50*4=200$ minimum per month only through sponsored posts. Isn't it good ?? Many top blogs with such ranks even get 200$ per post and they are easily making 500+$ per month only through sponsored reviews and paid posts. So with this, you might have understood the power of it.

Some Important Points to Remember before Getting Started

So, I have explained you everything in the guide and I guess you understood and liked it so far, but wait!! Before you get started I want you to keep some points in mind.

  • Only accept Paid posts and reviews that comes under your blog category/niche to maintain your readership and subscribers.
  • Don't compromise with regular posts, continue with regular posting of fresh quailty articles.
  • Don't write fake reviews.
  • Don't give excess do-follow links.
  • Don't promote illegal stuffs/ sites/ products even though you get huge offers for it.

Final Verdict

Hmm!! So at this point I don't have questions in my mind regarding anything and I guess you are clear with everything as well. Are you ???

By the way you have reached like 2000 words and I guess I've explained a lot in these words. Why not share it or like it or tweet it or even stumble it. That's how a blog's social network works. If you still have any query regarding any method or anything just comment below and I will answer your questions.

Hi guys, It's good to be back after Ramadan. IftiSEO wishes you all Eid Mubarak. Well, today I have came with a small tutorial on How to Check Whether Link Is Dofollow or Nofollow.

The reason behind this is that I've found many of my blogging friends checking the link status via source code which actually takes some time. Moreover the bloggers who are running event blogs should have to work at a faster rate in building links (via commenting) and for them it's nearly impossible to check up the status of every blog, So this post is for them too.

How to Check Whether Link is Dofollow or Nofollow

First off let me tell you the advantages of this.
  • It will help you choose blogs for Blog Commenting
  • It will help you determine DoFollow blogs for building links for your event blogs.
  • It will help you analyze how your competitiors are balancing thier Links (DoFollow and NoFollow) ratio on thier posts.
  • With this you can check Whether the backlinks you made are nofollow or dofollow.

What are DoFollow & Nofollow Links in Blogging

Well before starting you must know what is a DoFollow Link and what is a NoFollow Link. Since the post is on some other title, I will just give you an overview of it.

No Follow Link: Links which are not Crawled by Google Bot and moreover do not pass any Link juice. They do not help you increase your Page Rank and Rankings.

Do Follow Link: Such Links are crawled by Google Bots and spiders. Having DoFollow links to your blog will help you increase your rankings, Authority and Page rank.

I guess this much is enough for us to move forward. For more on this read this article "Understand DoFollow and NoFollow Link"

How to Check Whether Link is Dofollow or Nofollow

Download and install the NoFollow Extension in your browser. Once installed it will outline all the nofollow links on the page.

For Mozilla FireFox users, there is a different extension named NoDoFollow

How to Check Whether Link is Dofollow or Nofollow

What does this extension do?
It's quite simple, the NoFollow extension outlines nofollow links which are marked with rel='nofollow' and links on pages with nofollow robots meta tag. It outlines it as soon as the webpage gets loaded completely. its basically a dofollow and nofollow checker.

This extension gives you some extra features:
  • It allows you to add sites in "Exception Lists"
  • You can setup your own custom CSS for outlining NoFollow Links
  • You can easily enable and Disable the extension.

After the recent Panda and Penguin updates, Google recently released a new Local Search Algorithm. The main objective of this update is to provide the users more relevant and accurate local search results.

The Update is named as "Pigeon Update" by Search Engine Land since Google have not given any name to it. The changes will be seen on local google web results as well as on Google maps.

This update has currently rolled for the US English results. Google haven't shared any information on when it will be available more widely for different countries and other language based searches.

Pigeon Update: Google Updates Local Search Algorithm

Extract by Barry Schwartz
The changes have rolled out to both the Google Maps search results and Google Web search results. Google told me that the new local algorithm has "deeper into their web search capabilities, including the hundreds of ranking signals they use in web search along with search features such as Knowledge Graph, spelling correction, synonyms and more." It also has better accuracy over distance and location rankings.

YELP Problem Solved!!

This update has overcomed the YELP problem. YELP earlier had accused Google of manipulating the search results by showing Google's own directory listings instead of showing Yelp listings even if the user searched for YELP listing.

Here is an image showing the results before the pigeon update:

Pigeon Update: Google Updates Local Search Algorithm

Results after the Update:

gary-danko-yelp

Note: Only US users can experience the change now

More Details

  • Yelp, TripAdvisor, Zagat, Urbanspoon got improvement in their ranking. Most of them are back on page 1
  • Only US English results are affected currently
  • Google said that this new algorithm will improve the distance and location ranking parameters and moreover will aim to provide a more useful and relevant experience for searchers seeking local results, although it will make it more difficult for individual businesses to rank in the search results.

What's your say??

So, what do you think about this update? Are you penalised by Penguin update?
Do share your views in comments.
Webmasters have also started sharing the changes they witnessed. You can check up in the comments section of Search Engine Land's post. Discussions are under way now on various forums and social networks regarding the update.
Hi guys, today I'm here to make you aware of a major update carried out by Google. Google Finally removed authorship images and circle counts from search results.

Google Removes Authorship Images and Circle Counts From Search Results

Google's John Mueller already announced it on 26th June that they will be dropping this feature from the search results. Here is the post by John.

It was seen that user's preffered to click more of those links that had author pics on it as it looked quite genuine and trust worthy. But what now!! The answer will be quite clear after doing a good study of our analytic reports.

What Are your Views ?

Minutes after Google announced it, Webmasters from all over the globe are sharing their views on different forums. Some find it as a great step by google and agree to John Mueller words that it may improve mobile experience while many top bloggers are arguing against it.

I feel that this is a great step by Google which will help all the authors equally in search results.

The default commenting system of Blogger Blogs are quite simple. They only ask visitors for their name, phone number, email address and sometimes website URL. When Blogger was found, that is all the information really needed at that time.

At present Blogger Blogs does not have a very user friendly commenting system and normally people will hesitate to comment on your post if you are using default blogger commenting system. So in this post I will be listing some alternatives for the default Blogger Commenting System.

Best Third Party Commenting Systems For Blogger Blogs

Third Party Commenting System:

Comments are most important part of blogging (according to me). If you want to get more comments on your blog posts then you will have to opt-out for a third party commenting system instead of using the default system. There are many third party commenting system available for blogger blogs like Facebook Commenting System, Intense Debate, and Disqus etc.

Third Party Commenting System - Why You should Use It?

According to me if you are blogging on BlogSpot platform then you should shift your commenting system to a Third Party commenting system as soon as possible or else you will lose your valuable comments and traffic.

  • More Comments Increases Blog Traffic-This is the new SEO Strategy: Yes you read it right. This strategy works perfectly. More numenrs comments your blog post have, more will be its value in search engine rankings. It looks like after Penguin and Panda Updates Google is giving more priority to words. Nowadays the articles which has more words are ranked higher on Google than the articles which has fewer words.
  • So Should You Write Articles With More Words? - For this question, my answer will be No. If you write a long article then your reader will get annoyed and he will lose his interest in your article. So the idea which will help you to get higher rankings is to write an article with decent number of words i.e. 500-700 words and then get more comments on your article. Comments are also considered as your articles words, so the more the comments are the more will be your blog post ranking in search engines.

Best Third Party Commenting Systems for your Blogger Blog:

You should choose the third party commenting system according to your blog niche. In this post I have mentioned some commenting systems which are best according to me. Take a look and then decide yourself which you should choose.

When it comes to Third Party Commenting System for Bloggers Blogs then the best commenting system is Disqus. You can also remove this system anytime from your blog and the good thing is this that you will not lose any of your previous comments made with it. This is because of its great feature. In it Disqus syncs your comments with the default commenting system of the blogger. Not only this but when you add Disqus to your blog then the comments made before adding will also be synced, so that you wont lose anything.

When you use Disqus commenting system make sure that you sync Disqus comments with blogger or else you will be losing all the SEO juice.

Best Commenting System For Blogger Third Party

Google plus Commenting system is an alternative to the default commenting system of Blogger Blogs, this system is available to blog authors who have upgraded their Blogger profile to Google+. Google Plus recently introduced its commenting system for Blogger blogs. This feature is great. Google Plus commenting system is a SEO friendly commenting system and it also adds social engagement to your blog posts.

Best Commenting System For Blogger Third Party

    Facebook Commenting System:
Facebook commenting system is also a great commenting system for Blogger blogs. If you have huge Facebook fans, then I will recommend you to use this system for better results. This system will double your traffic. This is because when a visitor will comment on your blog post using this system then a notification will be sent to all of his friends that he have commented on a blog post with your post URL, so it will increase traffic. I will recommend to use this system only when you have more than 5000 Facebook Fans. If you have less fans then this system will not be profitable to you.

Best Commenting System For Blogger Third Party

Livefyre is the most favorite commenting system of many bloggers. This blogging system is also used by some most famous site like Mashable and Endgadget. This commenting system is a real time commenting system which is Search Engine Optimized and can also be used through mobile devices. Visitor can login with various social media site and he will be notified via email for more comments.

A user can also post multimedia files into comments like Photo, Videos, and Audios. User can also bring his friend into the conversation by inviting him via twitter.

Best Commenting System For Blogger Third Party

A new commenting system that features a Twitter-like follow and follower system on the blog. A user can share his thoughts by selecting one of the available emoticon icons. I like this thing very much in this commenting system because no other commenting system offers this type of comments.

Best Commenting System For Blogger Third Party

Intense debate is a commenting system which is developed by Automatic Team and by using this a user can comment through Open ID Google+, Twitter, Facebook and more. This system also supports threaded comments, replying via email and email notifications.

The strange thing that I have noticed is that other Automatic Projects do not use Intense Debate Commenting System. You can look at the blogs of WordPress, Akismet and VaultPress, you will find that the default commenting system being used in all instead of Intense Debate system.

Best Commenting System For Blogger Third Party

One Should Use Third Party Commenting System or Not?

Earlier comments made using Disqus and Facebook, didn't get indexed in Google Search, which was a big drawback of Blogger SEO. But when Google introduced third party commenting system for Blogger Blogs, Disqus and Facebook system got viral and Google also started to index them. I will strongly recommend to use Facebook and Disqus commenting system to get more comments and to improve your website rankings as well

Hi everybody, so what am I upto today ?? Well today I will sharing a simple tweak by which you can lower your Bounce Rate upto 70%. But before reaching there I will be sharing some simple methods to improve your bounce rate and a cool infographic from one of my favourite blogs followed by the secret tweak.

Simple Tweak To Reduce Bounce Rate by Over 50%
Simple Tweak To Reduce Bounce Rate by Over 50%

    What is Bounce Rate ?

There are a lot of bloggers who are still not clear about what Bounce rate actually is, so let me tell you. "Bounce rate is Percentage of visitors who arrives on your blog/website and closes it without opeing any other page." or in Google's words it is "The % of single page sessions on your site."

So it's quite understandable that a lower bounce rate is not good for us. A bounce rate below 50% is very much acceptable and you don't have to worry about it but if you have a bounce rate above 50% then you must carry on with this post and apply the simple adjustement given below.

Common Methods to Decrease Bounce Rate (BR)

    • Avoid PopUps: Popups are very annonying to many visitors and they close your site once they get a popup message from your blog.
    • Internal Linking: It is indeed a great way to encourage your readers to open further links and ultimately lower your BR. Try to do interlink atleast 3 of your links in every post.
    • Responsive Theme/Template: Use responsive templates that works well on all platforms and resolutions.

    • Use Related Posts Widget/Plugin: Use such widgets to further encourage your readers to read more of your posts. We use LinkWithin blogger widget in our blogs

    • Write Short Paragraphs: We are not saying to write less number of words but yes do write small paragraphs as many a times viewers feel lazy after seeing a long para and thus leave your blog which again lowers your BR.

    • Improve Loading Time: This again is an important factor responsible for your high bounce rates. Increase your page load time by removing unnecessary third party widgets or plugins.

    • Search Box: Offer a search box to your readers that will again help them to find more content on your blog.

    • Relevant Content: Always post relevant content on your blog. Off-topic posts will easily lead to increase in bounce rate.

    • Show Popular posts: Make use of your sidebar effectively by showing a list of popular posts from your blog, research shows that every blog visitors looks for the most popular posts of a blog.

Still not satisfied !!! reader satisfaction is our main aim, I have embedded an infographic from QuickSprout which will surely help you further in improving your bounce rate.

There is a special tweak for you that will lower your BR by 70% after this infographic.

Tweak to Lower Bounce Rate upto 60%

Let me tell you that this tweak was released by an Analytics insights team member officially so there is nothing to be afraid of.

How does it Actually works ?

Before trying anything related to codes it's very important to know what will be the code doing. So let me explain you in short.

Do you feel that the system or algorithm of Bounce rate is somewhat unfair ? I mean if someone is looking for a particular thing on google and he finds your post, read it and solve his problem, then its quite natural that he will close your blog coz his work/problem etc is solved. But What !!! Google will count it as a Bounce and add it to your Bounce Rate.

What should actually be the criteria for Bounce Calculation according to me ?

Well Its simple, I would like to consider a visit as a bounce only if the visitor closes the site after some period of time say 10 seconds or so, that would mean that the visitor doesn't like your content or he fails to find what he was looking for. Don't you think it will be fair ?? I would appreciate comments on this issue.

So this trick/tweak does the same, it will make the visit a bounce only if your site get closed within 10 seconds (you can easily change the time as per your wish). One more thing this code does is, it will discard the visit as bounce once a viewer scrolls the page.

Google's team and others call it as "Adjusted Bounce Rate"

How to implement it on YOUR BLOG ?

This is how the original analytics code looks like:

    1. Replace the above code with this code or the one given below

    2. Or replace it with this code

CODE 1: It will count a visit as a bounce only if the site is closed under 10 seconds. It will disregard a visit as a bounce if the user scrolls the page. It means if the visitor scrolls your post but closes it under 10 seconds it will still NOT be treated as Bounce

CODE 2: This code will behave as the above code but without the scroll option.

Just Replace the XXXXXX with your analytics ID and save the changes. Our code will count the visits as bounce only if the visitor closes the site under 10 seconds. You can change the time as well by changing the value of "10000" to your required choice.

    Note: 1000 = 1 Second

We recommend to set it at 15 seconds.
